(Seo tools) Build Your Clickthrough Rate in Google AdWords

By Frank Rumbauskas

Google AdWords is one of the most powerful marketing tools that you will ever use. Every good internet marketing professional devotes the majority of their time to increasing the size and quality of their list. AdWords is one of the best methods to use to build your list quickly.

In many pay-per-click systems the only determining factor in ad placement is the maximum bid price. In those systems, if you are willing to pay more than a competitor then your ad will be placed above theirs. Google AdWords does not work that way and places your ad based on performance.

One of the criteria used by AdWords to determine the placement and cost of advertisements is the historical Click Through Rate (CTR). CTR is determined by how often your ads are clicked in relation to how often they are shown. Ads with a higher CTR get higher placement and a lower ad cost.

AdWords keeps a historical record of your individual keywords, phrases, and groups beginning the first time that you begin using the system. This can be a challenge for new internet marketers.

When you open your Google AdWords account you will have an absolute ZERO historical click through rate. The competition that has been using AdWords is leaps and bounds ahead of you and will be getting prime ad placement while you are at the bottom of the totem pole. Most people only look through the first page or 2 of a search and if your ad is on page 3 they will not see it. This might seem like a “lose-lose” situation, but don’t worry, we are going to show you how to turn that around.

Keyword Macros

Keyword macros are a feature of Google AdWords that allow you to create dynamic ad copy. This feature allows your ad to display the user’s exact search phrase as your ad headline.

To use the Keyword Macro feature all that is needed is a little syntax:

{KeyWord:alternate headline}

Using this syntax in your AdWords campaign will display the user’s search as your headline. Google AdWords allows only 25 characters as a headline however and if the search exceeds this limit your alternate headline will be displayed.

If you notice in the syntax above the K and W are in capital letters. Doing this will cause the user’s search to not only become your headline but the first letter of each word will be capitalized. This will make your ad stand out from those who do not use this macro.

Finally, using this macro will cause your headline to be shown in bold type, yet another way to make your ad stand out from the rest.

How does all of this help build a historical CTR? Using keyword macros will result in much higher click through rates than standard headlines. This is the fastest way to build historical CTR. If you keep your CTR high your ad will enjoy better placement and you will enjoy lower ad costs.

EBook Marketing Plan, The Best Way To Market And Sell 35 EBooks, Part I
By Matt Bacak

Question: I have written 35 eBooks covering subjects on techniques and exercises of how to empower your mind to make money. The eBooks emphasize any given income opportunity. Should I have a separate website, squeeze page, sales page, order page, thank you page, and up sell page with each eBook? If so, is the opt-in the same for all 35 websites and goes to the same list?

Or should I put all 35 books on the same website and offer package deals of 10, 25, and 35 eBooks? If I do this one website format should I have a category format that contains the 35 eBooks along with a description for each eBook? Or will there be any advantage to doing both?

Answer: Your question really centers on creating a marketing plan for the 35 eBooks. Having 35 eBooks is definitely a good problem to have. To answer your question, let me explain how I would think about this situation in my mind. How I would go about it might sound different than how you are viewing the situation.

Here are the first four steps I would take for your 35 eBook marketing plan:

Step #1: Think about your 35 eBooks. Which books are the top sellers? You will use these top sellers in your marketing.

Step #2: I would have one main squeeze page. I would buy a domain that is separate from the eBooks. Make this website your main squeeze page.

Step #3: Then take the top 3 to 5 best sellers and write sales letters for each of these sites. Then split test the sales letters. Place these sales letters on your main squeeze page. Determine which sales letters convert the best after you drive the traffic to the main squeeze page.

Step #4: Once you have figured out which sales letter has the highest conversion rate then make that sales letter the main sales letter on your squeeze page. Optimize this top converting sales letter.

Basically, after people opt-in to your main squeeze page have them land on the best converting sales letter you have. Once you have the top sales letter working for you then look at the eBook that is in the sales letter.

These four steps will get you started on your eBook

EBook marketing
By HARJOT TIWANA

The buzz in writing circles these days is all about self-publishing Ebooks. They hear that eBook are giving authors that added income in between getting their print books published, but they have lots of questions before taking that first step.

“How do I make one?”

“What do I write about?”

“Does anyone even buy Ebooks?”

Actually, putting together an eBook is simple. You write about something you are familiar, put it in a .puff or .exe file and voila, instant eBook that you can sell off your website and make a few dollars, or even thousands of dollars depending on your promotional efforts, and you’re all set.

Authors and entrepreneurs are doing this all the time and there’s no reason why you can’t either.

The first step is determining what you want to write about, of course, and what your goal is for writing your eBook.

In 2004, I became published in print format for the first time. It was for an anthology of soul mate stories. The main reason I wanted to put this book together was because I had a goal in mind. I wanted to show people who have given up on soul mates that they did indeed exist.

After it was published, I started a marketing campaign. I had heard that Ebooks were all the rage and that you could make some pretty decent money off of them, so I gave it a try.

I started on another book on relationships, but while waiting on this book to be finished (which was taking an incredible amount of time due to research), I decided to try my hand at writing an eBook and selling it off of my website for added income while I waited on my print book projects to be finished.

This eBook was also centered on the soul mate relationship, which I felt would add to my expertise and would help sell my print books.

It worked.

Even though I only had the eBook up on my website and just a few online storefronts, the orders were coming in. However, I became disillusioned because I didn’t just want to sell a few copies; I wanted to sell hundreds or perhaps more.

I developed a plan.

Not only did I list it with any website that would announce my book, write up press releases and send them to every free press release service out there, and a myriad of other places, but I decided I’d write another eBook and give it away free to all those who bought my paying eBook.

This eBook was shorter, but to the point.

After I became successful using this promotional device to sell my paying eBook, I found this experience very rewarding and learned quite a few things in the process:

1.) you do not need a publisher to publish your book.

2.) Self-published Ebooks DO sell and create that added income while you’re waiting for your print books to sell.

3.) Writing Ebooks help give you expert status.

4.) Your Ebooks are 100% profit.

5.) The more you promote and make you and your eBook visible, the more income you will make.

Writing Ebooks and selling them yourself without the middleman - the publisher - is a great way to make money. Turn that “starving writer” moniker into “successful writer” and start cranking out those Ebooks. Once you start, you’ll wonder why you never thought of this great way of bringing added income into your household before!
